Britain to discuss AI boost and drones in Budget

According to the Treasury, Jeremy Hunt will present an £800 million package of technological changes on Wednesday in the Budget, to free up time for the police and the National Health Service.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt described it as a component of a "public sector productivity drive" in remarks over the weekend.

Based on the proposals, the police will utilise drones to respond to traffic accidents and artificial intelligence technology will be used to try and reduce NHS waiting times by a third.

The changes aim to reduce expenses by up to £1.8 billion by 2029, which may result in the loss of employment for tens of thousands of government servants.

"There is too much waste in the system and we want public servants to get back to doing what matters most: teaching our children, keeping us safe and treating us when we're sick," Hunt stated to reporters.

"That's why our plan is about reaping the rewards of productivity, from faster access to MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) for patients to hundreds of thousands of police hours freed up to attend burglaries or incidents of domestic abuse."

Other anticipated subjects for Wednesday's budget include reducing national insurance, eliminating non-dom statuses, and doing away with subsidies for 99% of mortgages.
