Test- FTSE 100 Kicks Off August on a High as BP and Senior Lead Market Momentum

Going into Wednesday's session, the markets have had a push higher thanks to Tesla's (NASDAQ: TESA) massive 15% gain adding around $70bn in market cap. Visa also reported earnings and moved 3% higher. The bullish sentiment has spilled into Wednesday with most of the index funds up pre-market and Asian sessions also seeing some nice gains in the Hang Seng.
Facebook owner Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META) will report its first-quarter earnings on Wednesday, with giants Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) will report their earnings on Thursday. Other notable mentions for Wednesday include Thermo Fisher (NYSE: TMO) & Boeing (NYSE: BA) before the bell and IBM (NYSE: IBM) after the bell. The full list can be found here.
Looking at the economic calendar wednesday seems quite light in terms of data with business confidence in Europe and mortgage approvals in the USA. It is worth mentioning that US Q1 GDP is due tomorrow however at 1.30 pm UK time.
