D.A. Davidson analysts believe that to attract new users to its operating system, Apple will need to be more inventive.
The analysts stated in a note to clients dated January 2 that although the California company has a "strong hold" on current smartphone owners because of its well-liked iPhone device, it needs to "unstuck on the innovation front" because competitors are developing next-generation technologies like folding phones and augmented reality glasses.
The analysts speculated that generative artificial intelligence may be responsible for some of this innovation and mentioned that Apple might be able to create new experiences and applications by using a "unparalleled" amount of user data.
The experts also out that China, where Apple is up against fierce local competition, will be a key market for new product introductions.
Additionally, a growing number of government and state-backed companies in China are reportedly ordering staff members not to bring iPhones to work, which might pose a challenge to Apple's dominance in the nation. Nearly one-fifth of the group's overall income comes from China, which also serves as a significant centre for production.
The experts said that in India, where lower price points are enticing customers to fork over extra money for high-end iPhones, Apple would also need to provide more attractive items.
