It is expected that easyJet and Burberry will be dropped from the FTSE 100 index in the upcoming quarterly reorganisation.

The index's administrator, FTSE Russell, has released its most recent indicative modifications advice, which supports this. However, the final changes will depend on share prices and market values next Tuesday, September 3.

EasyJet's share price surged 6% this week due to improving market pricing sentiment, however, these indicated improvements were based on data as of Friday, August 23.

Insurer Hiscox is scheduled to take over for fashion brand Burberry, which is expected to be demoted to the FTSE 250 due to its £2.5 billion market worth, which places it considerably outside of the FTSE's top 100 largest firms.

Warehouse property company Tritax Big Box REIT would be the most likely substitute for easyJet, according to FTSE Russell.

Following its June flotation, Raspberry Pi will also be listed on the FTSE 250 alongside Burberry.

The data used for the reshuffle will be from the close of business on September 3, 2024. The adjustments will take effect on Monday, September 23. Confirmation will occur on September 4, 2024, in the evening.
