ITV bags agreement to broadcast Carabao Cup and EFL games

The broadcaster will air a limited number of league and cup matches starting in January of the next year, starting with the Carabao Cup semifinal of that season.

As part of the deal, games that ITV airs will also be accessible on Sky Sports.

The agreement has been approved by all EFL teams, and it has been approved by the league's regulatory body.

Under the terms of their deal, which will expire at the conclusion of the 2026–2027 season, ITV will broadcast a minimum of nine EFL Cup games every season, including the championship game as well as games from the semifinals and quarterfinals.

Over the next couple of years, ITV will be able to show Championship and EFL Cup football events thanks to a new arrangement it reached with Sky Sports on Friday.

Furthermore, ITV  will concurrently broadcast 10 EFL Championship games for the duration of the season, with a further five scheduled for the following year.

It follows the signing of an innovative new contract by Sky Sports and the EFL to broadcast over 1,000 games a season, with over 20 games a year planned for all 72 teams.
