Netflix subscribers will supposedly soon be able to use their smartphones to play games like GTA or Squid Game.

According to rumours, Netflix is increasing its influence in the gaming sector by using the studios it has purchased to produce more video games based on well-known Netflix movies and TV episodes.

The Wall Street Journal claimed that while the streaming juggernaut first concentrated on mobile games, it is now seeking to create more complex games that can be played on TVs or PCs, competing with big names like Sony and Microsoft.

On their mobile devices, Netflix customers will soon be able to play games based on well-known episodes like "Squid Game" and "Wednesday." Additionally, Netflix is mulling over the possibility of making video games based on other series like "Extraction," its Sherlock Holmes collection, and "Black Mirror."

In addition to creating original games, Netflix will keep acquiring licences for already-released games.

In addition, Netflix and Take-Two Interactive have looked into the potential of launching a game from the well-known "Grand Theft Auto" franchise.

The games available on Netflix are now available to customers at no additional cost, and the corporation does not make money off of these games. These games' main goal is to improve subscribers' overall experience by adding a fun and participatory component to the system.

It acts as a marketing tactic to keep current customers and draw in new ones, especially when their favourite series aren't actively adding new episodes.
