President Biden stated on Friday that he intended to ask Congress for additional financing to help with the creation of a new COVID-19 vaccine.
He suggested that he may ask for a universal immunisation that would cover both individuals who have had immunisations before and those who haven't.
Friday, a reporter asked President Biden about his thoughts on the rise of COVID-19 cases and the appearance of a new variety when he was in the Lake Tahoe area.
"Yes, I can," he said. I approved this morning a request for more financing for a new vaccination that is required and beneficial that we must make to Congress.
"Regardless of whether they have previously had it or not, it is tentatively advised that everyone obtain it."
It is noteworthy that the White House's August 11 funding proposal to Congress for $40 million did not specifically include funds for Coronavirus-related issues.
The Biden administration is looking forward to the creation of a modified COVID-19 vaccination that particularly targets the XBB.1.5 form of the omicron strain, according to an Associated Press article.
In today's pre-market trade, shares of the four main producers of the COVID-19 vaccine, Pfizer, BioNTech, Moderna, and Novavax, were all trading slightly higher.
