Today, Samsung made its debut in the "smart ring" market with the release of the Galaxy Ring. The tech behemoth from South Korea wants to counter Apple's entry into the health-tracking market by integrating its wearables and smartphones.
At its Galaxy Unpacked presentation today in Paris, Samsung revealed the details of the Galaxy Ring, a lightweight ring with sensors meant for round-the-clock health monitoring. The device has been hinted at by the firm for a few months.
Samsung is attempting to enter a new market at a time when sales of smartphones are marginally increasing but consumers are keeping their devices longer. Manufacturers of devices search for supplementary electrical items to market
The Galaxy Ring gives Samsung a new product to offer in addition to its smartphones and wearables that can measure health-related characteristics. Samsung has been attempting to promote its health applications, which are becoming more and more well-liked among consumers, as a major selling point for these kinds of devices over the last several years.
In an attempt to boost sales of its other goods, Samsung is pitching the Ring as a wearable that can be used with its smartwatches and smartphones to provide a complete picture of a person's health. The Ring is driven by artificial intelligence software.
It weighs between 2.3 and 3 grams, depending on the size that you choose, for the Galaxy Ring. The gadget is available in three hues.
The Galaxy Ring's battery, according to Samsung, can last for up to seven days. Similar to wireless air buds, there is a portable charging case.
Starting on July 24, the Samsung Galaxy Ring will be accessible for a price of $399.99.
